Upon acceptance to EFA, schools register as approved vendors through the ClassWallet portal.

Schools invoice parents for tuition and other required expenses quarterly

In ClassWallet, parents provide proof of invoice and select the school to which they would like to designate funds.

ADE reviews parent fund designations; approvals require no further action from schools or families. ADE

5

Payments to schools are processed within 2-10 days of ADE approval.

6

Payments continue on a quarterly basis following the same process.

Access "Education Scholarship Account Program, Treasurer of the State"

Declare whether a parent or emancipated student

Click "+ New Application"

Add student information. Includes Student Test Number, date of birth, and birth certificate.

Declare relationship with applicant. If natural parent, no additional documentation will be required. Provide relevant documents otherwise.

Fill out household information. Declare number of people in household, and for expedited processing, you may provide your most recent 1040 tax form.

Upload disability documentation.

Identify whether a private school or parent will be providing special education services. If a school, select school from list.

Sign agreement and submit.

Click on "Provider Search" tab to find providers.

After receiving services, upload invoices given by providers to ClassWallet to initiate payment process.

If there are remaining funds after paying for tuition and fees, additional eligible educational expenses may be purchased through the Odyssey Marketplace. Follow instructions and submit to MS DOE by mail. Must include all supplementary documentation, including information verifying student disability

If approved, keep receipts for qualified expenses and submit them alongside a reimbursement form (found at mdek12.org/ose/esa)

Application process opens 5/1 until 6/1 for fall, and 11/1 until 12/1 for spring.

OPI (office of public instruction) will notify parents within 30 days of the close of the application window

Residential school district name and any prior districts attended

Once student is determined eligible, OPI will provide a contract for parent to sign

Agreements including a guarantee to provide an annual record of educational attainment by 7/15 of each year

1. results of a standardized achievement test
2. have the student take the statewide assessment test
3. providing a letter showing proof of a portfolio evaluation to the SGO

Purchases of goods and commodities are made through the MyScholarShop electronic marketplace.
